Vouchers (1890-1892), miscellaneous accounting records (1891), and historical data (1891-1963) documenting a hotel built (1881-1883) and operated by Great Northern predecessor St. Paul, Minneapolis and Manitoba Railway on the shore of Lake Minnetonka (Hennepin County) as a retreat for railway officials. It was destroyed by fire in 1897.

The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam.
